Question: Does embossing powder OR ink go out-dated? I was using gold yesterday and I had to re-do several because it didn't melt properly or go shiny! I've been embossing for years and years and never had this happen!

Answer: I don’t think powder goes bad. But it could have gotten damp with humidity, which would have affected it. Don’t store it near anything wet like wipes or water painters. The other thing, too, is if you have used it repeatedly over the years (and are saving and reusing excess that you are shaking off), it might have bits of paper or dust in it that is affecting the shine. And in that case, I’d try a new powder to see if it works better, then throw out the older one. What is more likely the case is that the pad you are embossing with isn’t good and inky. Try reinking your VersaMark pad to see if that helps.
