Question: What type of sharpener do you use with Watercolour Pencils? I used one that I have for my lead pencils and it broke the tip so
many times I gave up.
Answer: Sharpeners are made to shave strong pencil lead, not soft pigments used to make Watercolour Pencils, so I suggest you purchase a sharpener specifically for Watercolour Pencils. Until then, use only the small side of a dual-hole ‘regular’ pencil sharpener, rotating the pencil slowly so it doesn’t jam, and shaving only a little bit each time. Once you master your sharpening skills, you’ll want to buy all our colours – Watercolour Pencils (141709 – 13 colours) and Watercolour Pencils Assortment 2 (149014 – 10 additional colours).
