Virus Questions & 3rd Release of Sale-a-bration | Stamp with Jenn Weekly Update
Published: Tue, 03/24/20
Dear :
I thought I'd take a minute and answer some questions that I've had about the virus and Stampin' Up!
Q. Can we still order materials?
A. Yes. The plant and distribution are still open and working several shifts with new social distancing protocols in place. This does mean that things will be take a couple days longer to ship out. See also the question below about plants in China. At this point too, we have had no disruption in goods getting across the border.
Q. Is it safe to mail a card and receive packages?
A. Yes. The World Health Organization (WHO) and Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) have assured us it is safe to handle mail, including international mail. In general, because of poor survivability of coronaviruses on surfaces, there is a low risk of spread from products or packaging shipped over a period of days or weeks. Currently, there is no evidence of COVID-19 being transmitted by
imported goods or packages. If you want to be extra cautious, let mail sit for a few hours before picking it up.
Q. Is mail service still operating?
A. Yes. Although many post offices have reduced hours, letter carriers are still operating in Canada. Canada Post has currently waived the requirement for signatures at the door. Many postal outlets are also offering the first hour of each day for priority service to those who are at a higher risk.
Q. What about materials coming from China?
A. See above for safety concerns. The manufacturing plants in China that produce things like our dies and DSP's are all coming back online now. Any backordered materials will start to be fulfilled as materials arrive to the distribution centres.
Q. What can I do during this crazy time?
A. Please continue to stamp. And send your creations to your friends and family. It is the best stress reliever I know! And share your creations with me and online in ourVIP group. I understand that if you are worried about money right now, that you
might be relying on your stash of products to get you thru. In the meantime, I'll continue to send inspiration and updates. And I'm open for business whenever you do need something.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Take care, stay safe, and happy stamping!
